The CV Optimizer helps you tailor your resume for specific job applications. It analyzes your CV against job descriptions using an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) lens, identifies gaps, and provides actionable recommendations.

When to Use It

Use the CV Optimizer when you:
  • Are applying for a specific job opening
  • Want to understand how your CV compares to a job description
  • Need to identify missing keywords or weak areas
  • Want AI-generated CV improvements

How It Works

The CV Optimizer follows a 7-step workflow:
1
Job Description
2
Paste or upload the job description you’re targeting. The AI analyzes it to create a Strategic Dossier — a hiring manager brief that reveals:
3
  • What the hiring manager really cares about
  • Key priorities and must-have requirements
  • Company context and team dynamics
  • 4
    CV Upload
    5
Upload your CV as a PDF or DOCX file, or paste the text directly. The system extracts your experience, skills, and achievements.
    6
    CV Assessment
    7
The AI classifies your fit for the role into one of four pathways (see Key Concepts):
    8
PathwayMeaningVerdictDirect MatchStrong alignment with requirementsGreen — StrongPromotion CandidateGood fit with growth potentialBlue — GoodIndustry InsiderSame industry, different role typeYellow — StretchCross-IndustryTransferable skills, new industryRed — Gap
    9
You’ll see a confidence score and color-coded verdict indicating your likelihood of passing ATS screening.
    10
    Select Achievements
    11
Choose up to 8 achievements from your evidence base to provide context for the gap analysis. The AI uses these to understand your background and make targeted recommendations.
    12
The more achievements you’ve logged, the better the analysis. Add achievements before running the optimizer.
    13
    Gap Analysis
    14
Receive a comprehensive gap analysis including:
    15
  • ATS Score — Predicted likelihood of passing automated screening
  • Keyword Match % — How well your CV matches job keywords
  • Critical Issues — Must-fix problems that block ATS passage
  • Quick Wins — Low-effort, high-impact improvements with time estimates
  • Qualification Checklist — Required vs preferred qualifications
  • 16
    Keyword Check
    17
    A dedicated keyword analysis showing:
    18
  • Keyword Density — How often key terms appear
  • Missing Keywords — Important terms not in your CV
  • Overused Terms — Keywords that may trigger spam filters
  • Suggestions — Where to naturally add missing keywords
  • 19
    CV Rewrite
    20
The AI generates an optimized version of your CV implementing the recommendations. You can:
    21
  • Review the changes side-by-side with your original
  • Copy sections or the entire rewritten CV
  • Download the optimized CV
  • Tips for Best Results

    1. Log achievements first — The optimizer works best with a rich evidence base
    2. Use the actual job description — Copy from the original posting, not a summary
    3. Review the Strategic Dossier — Understanding the hiring manager’s priorities helps you tailor your approach
    4. Address critical issues first — These block ATS passage; quick wins can wait
    5. Iterate — Run the optimizer again after making changes to see improvement

    Common Questions

Q: How accurate is the ATS score? A: The score is a prediction based on common ATS algorithms. It’s a useful indicator but not a guarantee — different ATS systems have different criteria. Q: Should I use the AI-rewritten CV as-is? A: Use it as a starting point. Review and personalize the content to ensure it sounds like you and accurately reflects your experience. Q: What if I get a “Hard Stop” verdict? A: This indicates significant gaps. Focus on the critical issues and consider whether the role is a realistic target, or if you need to build more relevant experience first.
