When to Use It
Use the CV Optimizer when you:- Are applying for a specific job opening
- Want to understand how your CV compares to a job description
- Need to identify missing keywords or weak areas
- Want AI-generated CV improvements
How It Works
The CV Optimizer follows a 7-step workflow:Paste or upload the job description you’re targeting. The AI analyzes it to create a Strategic Dossier — a hiring manager brief that reveals:
Upload your CV as a PDF or DOCX file, or paste the text directly. The system extracts your experience, skills, and achievements.
The AI classifies your fit for the role into one of four pathways (see Key Concepts):
You’ll see a confidence score and color-coded verdict indicating your likelihood of passing ATS screening.
Choose up to 8 achievements from your evidence base to provide context for the gap analysis. The AI uses these to understand your background and make targeted recommendations.
The more achievements you’ve logged, the better the analysis. Add achievements before running the optimizer.
Tips for Best Results
- Log achievements first — The optimizer works best with a rich evidence base
- Use the actual job description — Copy from the original posting, not a summary
- Review the Strategic Dossier — Understanding the hiring manager’s priorities helps you tailor your approach
- Address critical issues first — These block ATS passage; quick wins can wait
- Iterate — Run the optimizer again after making changes to see improvement
Common Questions
Q: How accurate is the ATS score? A: The score is a prediction based on common ATS algorithms. It’s a useful indicator but not a guarantee — different ATS systems have different criteria. Q: Should I use the AI-rewritten CV as-is? A: Use it as a starting point. Review and personalize the content to ensure it sounds like you and accurately reflects your experience. Q: What if I get a “Hard Stop” verdict? A: This indicates significant gaps. Focus on the critical issues and consider whether the role is a realistic target, or if you need to build more relevant experience first.Related Features
