# OKR Tracker

> Set company KPIs, define key results, and track your progress with evidence

OKR Tracker lets you set the key performance indicators (KPIs) you will be measured on, define the key results that prove you are on track, and attach evidence to show your progress towards each target.

## Why It Matters

OKRs connect your day-to-day work to the goals your company actually measures:

* **Stay aligned** — Know exactly what you need to hit and by when
* **Show evidence** — Link achievements and revenue records to each key result
* **Spot risk early** — See which key results are off track before review time
* **Build your case** — When review season arrives, you already have the proof

The stronger your evidence for each key result, the easier performance conversations become.

## How It Works

<Steps>
  ### Set an Objective

  An objective is a clear, measurable goal your company or team has set:

  1. Go to the **OKR Tracker** tab
  2. Click **Add Objective**
  3. Type the objective title — use plain language like "Grow enterprise revenue by 20%"
  4. Add a short description (optional) — explain why this objective matters
  5. Set the **time period** — quarterly, half-yearly, or annual
  6. Click **Save**

  ### Add Key Results

  Each objective needs key results — the specific numbers or outcomes that prove you hit the objective:

  1. Open the objective you created
  2. Click **Add Key Result**
  3. Enter the key result description — be specific, e.g. "Increase average deal size from $50K to $60K"
  4. Set the **target value** — the number you need to hit
  5. Set the **current value** — where you are today (this can be zero)
  6. Choose a **unit** — percentage, currency, count, or custom
  7. Click **Save**

  Add 3 to 5 key results per objective. Fewer means clearer focus.

  ### Link Evidence

  This is where OKR Tracker connects to the rest of KAM Ascend:

  1. Open a key result
  2. Click **Add Evidence**
  3. Choose from your existing records:
     * **Achievements** — Select achievements that contributed to this key result
     * **Revenue records** — Link revenue entries that moved the number
  4. Each linked record appears as proof under the key result

  <Note>
    The more evidence you link, the stronger your case when review time comes. Link evidence as you go — do not wait until the end of the quarter.
  </Note>

  ### Track Progress

  Each key result shows a **progress bar** that fills as your current value approaches the target:

  * **On Track** — Progress is pacing ahead of the midpoint for the time period
  * **At Risk** — Progress is behind where it should be for this point in time
  * **Off Track** — Significant gap between current and expected progress

  Update the **current value** manually as you make progress, or link evidence that implies a change.

  ### Review and Update

  At any point you can:

  * **Update current values** — Edit the number to reflect latest progress
  * **Add or remove evidence** — Keep the evidence list current
  * **Add notes** — Record context that explains why a number changed (or did not)
  * **Archive completed objectives** — Move finished OKRs out of your active view
</Steps>

## Understanding the Layout

The OKR Tracker page is organized into three levels:

| Level | What you see | What you do |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- |
| **Objectives list** | All your active objectives with overall progress | Click into an objective to see its key results |
| **Objective detail** | Key results for one objective, each with progress bars and evidence count | Add key results, link evidence, update values |
| **Key result detail** | Full evidence list, notes, and value history for one key result | Add evidence, edit current value, add context notes |

## Tips for Best Results

1. **Start with company goals** — Ask your manager what KPIs you will be measured on, then set those as objectives
2. **Write measurable key results** — If you cannot put a number on it, it is not a good key result
3. **Link evidence weekly** — Make it a habit to attach achievements and revenue as they happen
4. **Keep it to 3-5 key results per objective** — More than that dilutes focus
5. **Review before 1:1s** — Use your OKR progress as a talking point in manager conversations
